About Time: New hotel to be staffed 80% by women

Time Hotels Management announced on Tuesday plans for a new four-star hotel in Dubai where 80 per cent of the staff members will be female, with dedicated facilities at the hotel for female guests.

Iraqi Kurdistan works to rebuild the ancient Erbil citadel

High on a rocky outcrop, just 50 miles from the fighting that is wrecking historic sites across Iraq, workers are busy laying out floor tiles, determined to save at least one ancient structure amidst the turmoil.
The team is rebuilding the last remains of the fortified citadel in the Iraqi Kurdistan capital of Erbil, constructed on top of the world’s longest continuously-occupied site according to UNESCO, parts of it up to 8,000-years-old.

Mehran Border Terminal Launches Tourist Office

The first information and tourist services office at a border crossing in Iran was launched in Mehran Border Terminal in Ilam Province last week.
The office is a pilot project to organize Iran’s inbound tourists at land border terminals and has been set up by the private sector in one of the high-traffic crossings in the country, the Persian daily Ettelaat reported.

US hotels come up with plan to fight Airbnb

US hotels are in the midst of strategising a battle plan to limit Airbnb's growing expansion. According to documents obtained by the New York Times, the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA), a trade group that counts Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide and Hyatt Hotels as members, is formulating a “multipronged, national campaign approach at the local, state and federal level” to limit Airbnb. “Airbnb is operating a lodging industry, but it is not playing by the same rules,” a spokesperson for the trade group told The Times. Axios reports that the AHLA is also planning to roll out a campaign this year, named 'My neighborhood,' that will showcase testimonials from people negatively impacted by short-term rentals. Miss Iraq 2017 competition to be held with NRT sponsorship
