KRG Supports Red Cross's Work: PM Barzani
ERBIL - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has reaffirmed his cabinet's 'continued' support for the work of Red Cross in the region, a statement said on Sunday.
The Kurdish prime minister on Sunday received a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross in Iraq, led by Jean-Jerome, in Erbil where they exchanged views on the organisation’s humanitarian activities in Iraq, as well as the autonomous region.
Barzani's office said in a statement that the Kurdish leader 'thanked the International Committee of the Red Cross for consistently providing their life-saving services in a professional and unbiased manner in the region.'
Apart from reiterating his government's support for the work of Red Cross, he also wished them great success.
The delegation, in return, 'extended their gratitude towards the Kurdistan Regional Government for its support and cooperation, particularly law enforcement officers, praising the government’s efforts with prison reforms.'
