A government source: The government has started its practical steps to rely on renewable energy to generate electric power

Baghdad / NINA / - A government source announced: 'The Iraqi government headed by Mustafa Al-Kadhimi has started its practical steps to rely on clean renewable energy in generating electric power through new contracts that will increase 7,000 megawatts for electrical production, which are advanced steps that keep pace with the development taking place globally.'

It is noteworthy that the Council of Ministers approved today a large number of decisions related to the status of electrical energy, including changing the name of the ministry to the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, for the ministry to adopt clean energy in the next stage.
