Iraq to Transfer 500,000 Tonnes of Gas Oil to Lebanon

Iraq has agreed to transfer Lebanon 500,000 tonnes of gas oil.

Following a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Iraq's communication minister announced that the Iraqi Cabinet had accepted an agreement to transfer Lebanon 500,000 tonnes of gas oil.

Iraq reached an agreement in July allowing the cash-strapped Lebanese government to pay in products and services for 1 million tonnes of heavy fuel oil per year, easing Lebanon's acute power shortfall.
