KRG Administered over 70% of Vaccines So Far It Received: Health Minister

ERBIL — Kurdistan Region's Health Minister Saman Barzinji said on Sunday that more than 70 percent of coronavirus vaccines so far arrived in the region has been administered.

'So far, 98,810 vaccines have arrived in Kurdistan Region through the national vaccination program, and... more than 70 percent of those have been used to vaccinate the public,' Barznji told Kurdistan 24.

He also pointed out that the Kurdistan Region is expected to receive 'two more batches' of COVID-19 vaccine shots within the next two weeks, without mentioning a specific date for the shipment.

The Kurdish minister also, once again, refuted rumors saying that vaccines had been smuggled out of the Kurdistan Region, to a neighboring country, calling the claims baseless.

'Not one vaccine has been misplaced nor has it been taken out of Kurdistan Region,” he said.
