The pair further shed light on the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad, as well as continued assistance for the Kurdistan Region's Peshmerga forces in the fight against the Islamic State (IS) in the region.

Jambon, in return, noted that he was pleased to meet with the KRG delegation, and 'expressed his pride in Flanders’ relationship with the KRG. The Flemish leader made clear his government’s readiness for cooperation in any form with the Kurdistan Region,' the press release concluded.
